Brain Gets Superstitious Ahead Of NFC Title Game
Winning a Super Bowl is not an easy task. Despite what Tom Brady tells you, even getting to the big game is something that many great players never manage to accomplish. So when your favorite team is one win away from playing for the Lombardi Trophy, you start to wonder what YOU can do to help out.
When my Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl after the 2010 season I was sure that it was the beginning of a dynasty. Nine years later, this is the Packers 4th NFC title game appearance. They've yet to win one since that 2010 season. So to help the team find that 2010 mojo, I broke out something that I purchased following that magical 2010 championship season. I knew I wanted something to remember that game by, so Chase and I got online and ordered a coin. It was an exact replica of the coin used during the pregame coin toss. It was a limited edition, and it would always remind of that winning day. I got it out last night for the first time in years. C'mon good luck...rub off!
But I've also got some good luck with me that happened just a few weeks ago. Carly has really been into making bracelets. One day several weeks ago she asked if I wanted her to make me one. I said sure, how about Packer colors. So she crafted me my bracelet in green, gold, and white. It has begun to look a bit tattered and weathered but guess what? The Packers haven't lost since I've worn it.
Of course, none of this really helps Aaron Rodgers survive the 49er pass rush on Sunday. It doesn't help the secondary cover George Kittle. It won't make the wind blow a little less on a game-winning field goal. Or will it...
