Halloween is coming up and scary movie season is in full swing! Today we are asking the question: What's the scariest movie you've ever seen?

It's no secret that both Brain and I are both huge babies when it comes to horror movies. I've seen a good number of them in my lifetime, some old and some new, but there's one that really stood out as the scariest one I've ever seen. It has more to do with my experience watching the movie than the actual movie, but it still scared the bejesus out of me! That movie was the first "Paranormal Activity."

In the beginning of the movie, there's a warning that says something like, "this movie is based off of true events." In my head that meant, "THIS REALLY HAPPENED AND SOME OF THESE CLIPS ARE REAL." I went through the entire movie thinking, "this really could happen to me!" I know that sounds pretty stupid, and looking back I realize I was really gullible, but at the time I was so scared that I started crying. Yup. I cried. Not in the theater, but later on at night when I got home and I was alone in the dark. To be fair, the movie is really terrifying! It was one of the first few movies to do the "found footage" thing, and it was so simple that it seemed like it could happen to anyone. Most of the movie is very quiet, so you are constantly on edge, waiting for something to pop out at you. I was not a fan! Some of the other movies that really scared me were "The Strangers," "It," the original "Halloween," and "Poltergeist."

Here's Brain's story: OK, I hate scary movies, too. Which is a bit strange since, as an adolescent, I loved reading books by Stephen King and Dean R. Koontz among others. But when it came to watching them on screen? No thanks. The movie I remember being  terrified off is 'Pet Semetary', based on the novel by Stephen King. For those of you who don't know the premise, a family's cat is killed in an accident, so the father finds a mysterious Indian burial ground that brings that cat back to life. But when the couple's child is killed, the father buries him there too. What comes back is terrifying. There are other images of the movie that I can't erase from my mind and I know I had countless nightmares based on them when I was younger. I'm guessing if I watched it today it wouldn't bother me nearly as much. But it's just a guess...I'm never watching 'Pet Semetary' again!

So, now we want to know your scary movie stories! What is the scariest movie you've ever seen? Leave your answer in the comments!
