David Arquette Bringing Scream 30th Anniversary Tour to Eastern Iowa
30 years ago, a scary movie made fun of all the so-called 'rules' that other horror movie franchises had run into the ground for decades. It featured a young cast of up-and-coming stars, a recognizable sitcom star, and it killed off the biggest name in the movie in the first 15 minutes! 'Scream' would change the way horror movies were made, and one of the film's stars is coming to Eastern Iowa just in time for Halloween!
Go Behind the Scream with David Arquette
According to a press release, on Sunday, October 25th, actor David Arquette will host a question-and-answer session at the Paramount Theater in Cedar Rapids. The event also includes a special 30th anniversary showing of the 1996 movie 'Scream'. Arquette played Dewey Riley in the iconic film. He'll take the stage and share stories from the set and behind the scenes, and answer fans' questions about the movie.
A 'Killer' Horror Movie Franchise
When 'Scream' debuted in 1996, it kicked off the beginning of a franchise. Other films included;
- Scream 2 - 1997
- Scream 3 - 2000
- Scream 4 - 2011
- Scream - 2022
- Scream VI - 2023
- Scream 7 - 2026
Arquette's character is one of the only characters to appear in the first five Scream films. And even though his character died in the 2023 film, he was back in Scream 7.
