Is the coronavirus pandemic impacting your mental health? If so, you're not alone.

This week on Brain & Courtlin in the Morning we spoke with the executive director of Foundation 2, Emily Blomme. If you're not familiar with the organization, the official website reads:

"Foundation 2 is a "not-for-profit human service agency that offers crisis prevention and intervention programs to people of all ages. We are committed to positive youth development, suicide prevention, and helping build the foundation for stronger and healthier families and safer communities for everyone."

Their services include a 24-hour crisis hotline, crisis chat and text, family counseling, support groups, and more.

Fears of coronavirus have resulted in a spike in calls to the Foundation 2 crisis hotline from people with all types of concerns. We spoke with Emily about some of those concerns and how people can get help if they need it. Here's our interview from Wednesday, March 18th:

For phone counseling with Foundation 2 (available 24-hours a day), you can call (319) 362-2174 in the Cedar Rapids area or 1-800-332-4224 anywhere else in Iowa. Crisis Text is available by texting 1-800-332-4224 (available Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.).
