Nick Nurse might have been a relative unknown to some in Iowa. But that was before his Toronto Raptors won the 2019 NBA Championship. Now we can all say we know his Iowa story. Nurse is a native of Carroll, Iowa. He went on to play basketball at UNI. He's the school's all-time leader in three-point percentage. His coaching story has taken him to leagues around the world. But now that he's an NBA champion, he's bringing some more of Iowa with him to the NBA.

Nurse recently named another UNI alum to his coaching staff. That former player would be Brittni Donaldson. She will serve as an assistant coach under Nurse in Toronto. She becomes just the 10th female assistant coach in NBA history and the league's youngest at age 26. She played at UNI through 2015 and until recently had been serving as a data analyst for the team. Not a bad promotion.

Donaldson will join the Toronto staff as they look to repeat as NBA Champions. It won't be easy as finals MVP Kawhi Leonard now resides in Los Angeles. But I wouldn't put it past these two Panthers to get the job done!
