It's an Iowa Hawkeye fans dream, and it's all made possible by a single Iowa fan. Tuesday, April 16, ESPNU will feature nothing but the Iowa Hawkeyes... for the entire day. The man we can all thank is Brian Dahlin. He lives in Wisconsin, but he's black and gold all the way through.

According to a release from the Iowa Sports Information Department, Dahlin was born and raised in Green Bay, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, and works in Nichols, Wisconsin. He became an Iowa fan because of former Iowa football coach Hayden Fry.

Last year, ESPN did a programming auction they called ESPY Day Auction. The winner would be able to schedule an entire day of programming on ESPNU, featuring the team of their choice. Brian Dahlin's winning bid provided money to the Jimmy V Foundation for cancer research. Dahlin himself is a Stage 4 cancer survivor.

I think you'll enjoy the programming Dahlin chose. Here are the games and when each will air:

Monday, April 15 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesday, April 16

    • 8 pm to 11 pm: Capital One Bowl from January 1, 2005

It's pretty hard to top the ending of the Capital One Bowl against LSU:

Dahlin wanted ESPNU to show the 1993 NCAA Women's Final Four game featuring C. Vivian Stringer's Hawkeyes, but ESPN doesn't own the rights to that broadcast.

Thank you, Brian Dahlin, for an entire day of Hawkeye games Iowa fans around the world will enjoy. More importantly, though, congratulations on beating cancer and donating to cancer research that will benefit many others.
