I watched them build it. I wasn't impressed. The news that a Dunkin' Donuts was going in a mere 3 blocks from my house didn't faze me. It's not like I was going to walk there every day. Those were my thoughts....until I tasted the coffee. I'm doomed.

I'm not sure how long the new Dunkin' Donuts on 7th Avenue in Marion has been open, but my first trip was this past Saturday morning. My daughter Cayleigh and I walked the short 3 blocks to the new location. It was a good thing we walked. The parking lot was full and the drive through line was nearly out into the street. I'm not a hot coffee drinker, but ICED COFFEE is another story. I ordered a half dozen donuts to take home to the kids and got myself and iced coffee with mocha and cream. It was like liquid crack hitting my lips. As I sucked it down before we even made it home I was sad I didn't get a large. It was the beginning of my Dunkin' weekend.

The beginning you say? Yes. I went back on Sunday. Some neighbors wanted to go up and get some coffee and I was more than happy to show them just how close it was!

This time, I got a large. That turned out later to be a mistake as I suffered from a bit of caffeine overload. But it wasn't the last one I'd enjoy. I brought the leftovers of my son's caramel drink into work this morning!  Now, I know that the 'newness' will wear off. I'm not going to walk there every day just for the coffee. I'll go for the donuts!
