
Three People Dead Following Head-On Collision on I-380
Three people were killed in a head-on collision on Interstate 380 in Black Hawk County.
CBS2 reports that the accident happened when 63-year-old Thomas Sidler of Alabama was driving his pickup northbound on I-380, Monday afternoon at around 4 p.m. His truck swerved into oncoming traffic and struck an SUV near the Gilbertville exit.
According to CBS2, the SUV was driven by 68-year-old Judy Fisher, with 45-year-old Jessica Fisher, both from Cedar Rapids, riding in the passenger seat. Despite everyone in the accident wearing their seatbelts, all three people were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Iowa State Patrol continues to investigate what caused Sidler to cross the median.
