2021 is looking up!

Just a few weeks ago, organizers behind the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa announced the official route for RAGBRAI 2021. After cancelling last year's event because of the pandemic, the organizers and riders were hopeful that this year's event wouldn't see that same fate. Well, we are happy to report that RAGBRAI is BACK!

Even though the official route was announced earlier this year, it was still unclear if RAGBRAI would be able to go on as planned. They were waiting for more details on COVID-19 and the vaccine rollout before making anything official. Now that we have a little more information on those issues, an update was posted to the RAGBRAI website just yesterday. It reads:

"RAGBRAI along with the host communities are committed to hosting a safe and healthy ride in 2021. RAGBRAI will release a comprehensive COVID-19 mitigation strategy, already in development, that all communities, volunteers, vendors, and partners will adopt for this year’s ride."

We don't know what exactly that strategy is yet, but I'm sure that we'll all find out soon. Registration for RAGBRAI XLVIII is open until April 1st for weeklong rider and non-rider registration, and for day pass registration you have until June 1st. The event will take place July 25th through the 31st. You can check out some frequently asked questions and register now HERE.
