Everything You Need to Know for the 2026 Great Jones County Fair
Fair week has finally arrived! It's almost time for the 2026 Great Jones County Fair in Monticello, and this year's event is going to be PACKED with food, fun, and live music! Here's a rundown of everything you need to know ahead of "The FIVE Best Days of Summer":

Admission & Parking
The 2026 Great Jones County Fair takes place Wednesday, July 22nd through Sunday, July 26th. Here are the prices for fair admission in 2026:
- Online: $12 Wednesday through Sunday
- At the Gate: $15 Wednesday through Sunday
- Admission Package (includes five daily admission tickets - must be purchased online by 4 p.m. on July 21st): $52
- Ages 10 and Under: FREE
There's also a NEW policy in 2026 when it comes to admission: if you have tickets to any of the Grandstand concerts, admission is now included! That means you do NOT have to pay the fee at the gate. Yay!
Carnival Ride Wristband Vouchers are also available to purchase in advance online until July 21st at 4 p.m. Get more information on those HERE.

As far as parking goes, there is a designated area for handicap parking, 4-H/FFA parking, and a limo/bus drop-off area listed on the official fair map, which you can find HERE. For everyone else, I recommend bringing some cash! Lots of houses in the neighborhood offer parking on their lawn/in their driveway for a fee. Otherwise, you may have to do a bit of walking once you find a spot!
Clear Bag Policy
If you plan to bring a purse or bag into the fair, there is a clear bag policy that you'll have to abide by. Check out the details of that policy below:

Purses, backpacks, oversized tote bags, and mesh bags will not be permitted.
Other items that are not allowed on the fairgrounds include:

The only place you'll be able to purchase alcoholic beverages using cash will be on the track during the concerts Thursday through Sunday. Fair Cards are also accepted on the track.
Here are the places that adult beverages will be available, as well as what options you have at each location:

Food
