A sure sign that Winter is finally gone in the State of Iowa.... the racing season kicks off in full swing this week. The IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds will be racing for a top prize of $1,000 at each of four Frostbuster specials April 1-4. Expect a big field of cars and thousands of races fans flocking out of their homes from hibernation.

Racing kicks of Wednesday night April 1 at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 7 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m.

Benton County Speedway in Vinton will hosts the Thursday Night April 2 Frostbuster show. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:15 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.

The action moves to Marshalltown on Friday Night April 3. Gates open at 4 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m., hot laps are at 6:15 p.m. and racing be­gins at 7 p.m.

The last of the Frostbuster specials wraps up at the Boone Speedway Saturday Night April 4. Pit gates at 2 p.m. and the grandstand at 3 p.m. Hot laps start at 4 p.m. and racing at 5 p.m.

IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars also run for $500 to win, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods for $400 and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $250 each night.
