According to a survey from the folks at Groupon, here is what you need to do to make it look like you at least tried on Valentine's Day. If you're a guy, dinner and gifts should cost about $179, a woman should spend around $74. You need to write at least FOUR sentences in the card.

If you're planning a night out, make sure and still get a small gift. 26% of women and 19% of men say they'd be disappointed if the didn't get anything. But the overall theme is just plan SOMETHING! 71% of people are happy if you just try!

I've always said that it's not the money you spend on Valentine's Day, it's the sentiment behind the gift. Make it simple and from the heart and you can't go wrong!
