Today is National Vietnam Veterans Day, honoring the veterans who served in the U.S. military during the Vietnam War. Show your appreciation to a vet today-- They deserve it! They also deserve the best care possible, and that is becoming a reality for many eastern Iowa veterans.

Veterans in the eastern part of the state near the Quad Cities won't have to drive all the way to Iowa City for care anymore. That's because a new VA outpatient clinic is opening up in Davenport.

WQAD in the Quad Cities reports that the massive 11,000 square foot space can now carry more services for local veterans than the old Bettendorf location. The new location will offer additional primary care services, audiology, optometry, mental health services, and other specialty services. That means that over 9,000 veterans that the VA serves won't have to make the long drive to the Iowa City Veterans Hospital for care.

The Davenport VA Outpatient Clinic is set to open and serve veterans on Monday, April 1. Take a little tour of the new facility in the report here.
