Marion is about to be home to a new ER courtesy of Unity Point-St. Luke's. The new facility will be located at 3301 Armar Drive.

The Corridor Business Journal reports that the ribbon cutting for the new ER is set to take place on Friday, July 26th at 2:30 p.m. St. Luke's ER team members, board members, and administrators will be joined by the Marion Chamber of Commerce for the ceremony. The next day, a community open house will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. according to the CBJ. You'll be able to take a tour of the new building, enjoy refreshments, and win prizes.

The CBJ reports that the new ER will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The new facility will feature the following:

  • Full-service emergency care, like that offered at the St. Luke's Cedar Rapids ER on A Ave.
  • 12 private rooms
  • Advanced imaging and testing including CT, x-ray, and ultrasound
  • An on-site lab

The new Unity Point Marion ER will officially open to the public on Tuesday, August 6th at 9 a.m.
