Marion Business Giving Away Vehicle To Someone In Need
A Marion business is giving away a car to someone deserving in the community. O.K, they technically can't GIVE the vehicle away so Anderson Automotive will sell it to the winner for one dollar. The giveaway is all part of the Wheels To Prosper program which is done by other organizations around the U.S.
For the 10th year in a row, Anderson Automotive is looking for someone who "demonstrates selflessness, cares for others, and has a need for transportation." Jim Anderson, the owner of Anderson Automotive, says that they're looking for someone who isn't looking for a handout, but a hand up. He said that they're looking for someone who is having a rough go of it, but refuses to give up. They're not giving up, they just need some help to get to that next level.
The winner will get a 2007 Chevy Uplander that has been well cared for and will last its new owner for quite a while. If you know of someone who you think is deserving you can send your nominations to Wheels to Prosper, 300 44th street, Marion, Iowa 52302. You can also submit an online nomination HERE.
The vehicle is on display at Anderson Automotive throughout the contest. The winner will be announced March 15th live on the CBS2 News!
