Marion Announces Free Movie Series, in Five Different Locations
The City of Marion has come up with a fun way to do free movies in the community this spring and summer, and they're spreading the love around town.
Marion has announced they're doing a free movie series that will be in five different locations over the next five months. "Movies on the Move" will happen on the third Tuesday of each month, with an outdoor movie in a neighborhood park in Marion.
Each of the five movies will begin at approximately 8 p.m. (or dusk). If you're going to take the family to see one, you're encouraged to take along chairs and/or blankets to the park. If you'd like to bring in outside food and drink, that's perfectly fine.
It all begins on Tuesday, May 17 with "Grease" being shown at Butterfield Park (3500 29th Avenue in Marion).
The second movie is Tuesday, June 21 as "Grumpy Old Men" will be shown at Thomas Park (343 Marion Boulevard).
On Tuesday, July 19, "Little Big League" hits the outdoor big screen at the Peg Pierce Complex (273 31st Street).
Tuesday, August 16, see "Hook". It will be shown at Taube Park (2200 31st Street).
The five-night series will conclude with "Back to the Future" on Tuesday, September 20 at Hanna Park (775 Fairview Avenue).
Five great movies, and hopefully five wonderful nights of weather will greet them all.
