Man Loses Over 170 Pounds Simply By Taking The Stairs
45-year-old Walter Beals works at a courthouse in North Carolina. At his heaviest, Walter weighed 440 pounds. So to help lose the weight he began climbing the stairs at the courthouse during his lunch break. That simple step has helped him lose over 170 pounds!
Walter's routine takes him up eight flights of stairs. He takes an elevator down to help save his knees, then he does the stairs 12 more times! By the way, that's the same as walking to the top of a 100 story building! To help stay motivated, he began keeping track of his steps and comparing it to things. He's now walked enough steps to climb Mount Everest, and recently walked enough to reach outer space! He even wore an astronaut suit to mark the occasion!
