Linn County Man Dies In Bicycle Accident

According to KCRG, "The Linn County Sheriffs Office tells TV9 a male has died after crashing his bicycle."

The unfortunate accident happened Friday night at 8:58 p.m. in Bertram, Iowa. He was riding his bike near the 400 block of Ely Street. Authorities said in a release the man was attempting to go down a steep hill when he fell off his bike.

The man was transported to Mercy Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as 60-year-old Charles Cephas Peal of Bertram.

We do know he wasn't wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
