[UPDATED Wednesday, April 11 12 p.m.]:

According to a release from the Cedar Rapids Police Department, 46-year-old Angela Dee Beik of Marion was arrested at 11:15 this morning by deputies with the Linn County Sheriff's Office. She's been charged with Sexual Exploitation by a Counselor, Therapist, or School Employee.

Beik, is accused of having sexual contact with a 16-year-old male over several months. She was employed by Linn-Mar High School as a nurse at the time. The male was a Linn-Mar student.

The allegations were made known to the Cedar Rapids Police Department on March 19, which has been investigating along with the Marion Police Department and Linn County Attorney's Office.

The charge against Beik is a Class D felony.

[ORIGINAL STORY Tuesday, April 10 12 p.m.] Angela Beik, a nurse at Linn-Mar high school, who was first put on paid administrative leave while the case was being investigated, has now been fired by the school district for an inappropriate relationship with a student, as reported by CBS2.

The allegations were presented to the Department of Human Services on March 18th, and a search warrant affadavit said she had an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old student who denied it.

The Linn-Mar School District issued a statement, as follows:

As soon as the district was made aware of the situation -- and to allow for an investigation -- Beik was placed on paid administrative leave March 20, 2018. Beik’s employment with the school district was terminated on April 9, 2018. Beik was a full-time nurse at Linn-Mar High School since August 2016.

Student safety is our first and foremost concern. The district takes all allegations related to abuse or harassment very seriously.
