Police officials are asking both parents and athletes to come forward as a local sports photographer and personal trainer is accused of using his position to take inappropriate pictures of minors, according to CBS2.

Marion and Cedar Rapids police officials arrested Kameron Marrelle Beets on Monday evening near the 3000 block of 6th Street SW. He was taken into custody and faces multiple charges including 3rd-degree kidnapping, 3rd-degree sexual abuse, sexual exploitation of a minor, sexual exploitation by a school employee, and invasion of privacy.

Beets is currently listed as an assistant coach for the track and field team at Linn Mar. The school district issued a statement on Monday that states;

Linn-Mar is aware of the allegations involving a former employee. No complaints were received by school administration to suggest any misconduct in a school-related context. The district is following our procedures and cooperating with law enforcement.

Court records show that Beets had two orders of protection filed against him last month, according to CBS2. They also confirmed that Beets was still covering high school sports as recently as last Friday. The investigation began when Marion police received information that Beets solicited inappropriate photos from two minors. Officials then learned that Beets owned and operated a high school sports photography and personal training business called BEAST Academy. CBS2 reports that he had contact with numerous high school athletes across Eastern Iowa.

Parents who believe that their child was victimized by Beets are ured to call the Marion Police Department at 319-377-1511.
