Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids is Opening Tomorrow
Things are slowly beginning to return to normal here in Eastern Iowa.
Late last week, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced that the state would begin to allow certain businesses to open, but with some new rules and social distancing guidelines. The proclamation said that campgrounds, drive-in movie theaters, tanning facilities, dentists, and medical spas were allowed to open across the state, even in the 22 Iowa counties that still have harsher restrictions (Allamakee, Benton, Black Hawk, Bremer, Dallas, Des Moines, Dubuque, Fayette, Henry, Iowa, Jasper, Johnson, Linn, Louisa, Marshall, Muscatine, Polk, Poweshiek, Scott, Tama, Washington, and Woodbury). Those 22 counties were also allowed to reopen fitness centers (by appointment only), malls, and other retail establishments as of 5 a.m. Friday.
Coral Ridge Mall in Coralville officially opened for business on Saturday, but with revised hours. The mall's website states that they are open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. You can see the list of open stores HERE.
Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids didn't open its doors right away, but we now know that they will tomorrow. KCRG reports that the mall will reopen on Wednesday, May 13th beginning at 11 a.m. Like Coral Ridge, the new hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. As of right now, there is no list indicating if specific stores will be open or closed, so you may want to call and check once the mall reopens. KCRG also reports:
"The mall is requesting that visitors don't go in groups, wear masks, and practice social distancing."
Stay safe, shoppers!
