Kinze CEO to Sell Off Part of Impressive Tractor Collection
How many tractors are too many? That is a question that Kinze Manufacturing CEO Jon Kinzenbaw has finally come up with an answer to.
Kinzenbaw, the Eastern Iowa entrepreneur who founded Kinze Manufacturing 60 years ago, is preparing to sell a portion of the over 600 tractors that he has collected over the past five decades, according to the Des Moines Register.
How Did Kinzenbaw Get Started Collecting Tractors?
The Register reports that Kinzenbaw started his tractor collection in 1979. He purchased several models that he had always wanted when he was growing up on a farm in Eastern Iowa. And for those of you who may think that Jon has a preference for a certain color of tractor, think again. The Register reports he couldn't care less. Kinzenbaw is color blind!
Which Tractors Will Be Sold?
According to the Register, Kinzenbaw will sell off around 125 duplicate models in an auction on November 4th. Tractor enthusiasts can catch a glimpse of all the tractors on sale during an open house event set for October 27 through 30. Models for sale include International Harvester, John Deere, Massey Ferguson, Allis-Chalmers, Ford, and Oliver.
A One-of-a-Kind Tractor Collection
The President of the Antique Engine and Tractor Association told the Register that Kinzenbaw's tractor collection is unparalleled for its size and variety.
The online auction will begin at 9 a.m. on November 4th. The Register reports that each item will be timed and will have no reserve or minimum price. You can get more information on the auction and how to bid HERE.
