Kernels Ballpark To Host Two Summer Concerts
Time to rock the ballpark! As long as Mother Nature cooperates.
Everyone loves live music in the summer here in Cedar Rapids, with Uptown Friday Nights being the flagship weekly draw at the McGrath Amphiteatre, live and local bands taking the stage almost every week from May to August.
Now, the Kernels are sharing their "stage" twice this summer, as Veteran's Memorial Stadium announces two big concerts that you're going to love.
Saturday, July 6 at 7:30 it's Hairball featuring Catfish Murphy, then on Saturday, August 16, also at 7:30, it's local favorites who are gaining a regional following, the Pork Tornadoes!
Tickets for both shows go on sale March 25th at 10 a.m. at the Kernels website. Get on these tickets fast when they go on sale because everyone's going to want a piece of these shows.
I think it's great that more of our local venues are thinking outside the box and making use of their facilities for concerts and other events. I went to Hairball last summer at Vet's Stadium and it was a very cool experience in that environment.
