Keegan Murray Outshoots Lebron James in Preseason Debut [WATCH]
Iowa basketball fans and Sacramento Kings fans are going to have fun watching rookie Keegan Murray this year in the NBA. The rookie from Iowa took to the court in his NBA preseason debut and outshot one of the best players in league history.
Now don't get me wrong, this was just a preseason game. But Keegan Murray looked like he was ready to start the regular season right now. The number four overall selection in the 2022 NBA Draft scored a game-high 16 points and pulled down 6 rebounds according to the Cedar Rapids Gazette. This despite not even starting for Sacramento. Murray played a team-high 21 minutes and the Kings beat the Los Angeles Lakers 105-75. Much like during his playing days at Iowa, Murray was all over the court for the Kings.
Murray's official line for the night? 7 of 11 from the field, 2 for 4 from the three-point line, and two steals, according to the Gazette. as for that other team with two future Hall of Famers on it? Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 11 points and Lebron James went 0 of 7 from the field and had just 4 points. Now before Kings fans hang a championship banner, remember...it's October in the NBA. It's a bit like the NFL preseason. Vets don't take it too seriously. But one thing is for sure. It is going to be a lot of fun this year watching Keegan Murray. Can anyone say 'Rookie of the Year'?
