When you're known for your defense, you can't have enough players ready to suit up. The Iowa Hawkeye football team has landed defensive line help heading into next season courtesy of the transfer portal.

The Des Moines Register reports that Iowa has gotten a commitment from former Central Michigan defensive lineman Jonah Pace. He'll have one season of eligibility left in Iowa City. He spent four seasons, including a redshirt year, at Central Michigan, but decided to enter the transfer portal for his final year of college football.

The Register reports that Pace is listed at 6'5" and 285 pounds. Last year for Central Michigan he had 34 tackles and four sacks. He will have his opportunities for Iowa next season as the Hawkeyes are set to lose two starters from this year's D-line, Yahya Black, and Deontae Craig.

Pace will join current Iowa starters Ethan Hurkett and Aaron Graves, who will both return for their final seasons at Iowa. Reserves Max Llewellyn and Brian Allen will also see more time according to the Register.

Pace joins former Auburn quarterback Hank Brown as Iowa's two transfer portal commitments so far.
