The White Creek Tavern in White Creek, Wisconsin sets a whole new level for "dive bar" and that is NOT a good thing.

Dive Bar Expectations

Just so we're all on the same page on what a "dive bar" is, here is how it is defined by Wikipedia;

dive bar is typically a small, unglamorous, eclectic, old-style drinking establishment with inexpensive drinks; it may feature dim lighting, shabby or dated decor, neon beer signs, packaged beer sales, cash-only service, and local clientele.

I happen to be a big fan of the low-key vibe of dive bars and will 9 times out of 10 choose to go to a dive bar over a trendy/fancy/popular one.

After discovering what I thought was the worst/weirdest dive bar in Wisconsin, the Plywood Palace in Moquah, and after talking about it on air we received this app message;

 missed most of the dive bar conversation but needed to show you a bar named White Creek Tavern. I have never seen anything like it in my life… hoarders.

The app message also included this picture...

What?!? Is that a pic from the inside of the bar?!?

Of course, I had to find out more about this White Creek Tavern, and honestly, I was NOT prepared for what I was about to see and learn.

And THIS...

White Creek Tavern is proud of the fact that they have been open "every day since 1933", even if it looks like they haven't thrown anything away since 1933 either.

Don't worry though, the Tavern fully embraces its trashy reputation. Here's an example of something it shared on Facebook in 2020...

Here's a nice scenic tour of White Creek Tavern that I found on TikTok...

White Creek Tavern is located at 1488 CR-H in White Creek, Wisconsin, which happens to be about 30 minutes from our family cabin. Am I brave enough to go experience the White Creek Tavern for myself next time I head up north? The jury is still out on that one.
