If you've been in Iowa long enough, you've came to the realization that we've got a lot of great food. Pork tenderloins, loose meat sandwiches, sweet corn, you name it--we've got it! And a lot of times it's not too expensive either.

Wallet Hub put together a list of the best cities in America for foodies and we had two cities that nabbed a spot! If you're not quite sure what a "foodie" is, it's defined as "a person who has an ardent or refined interest in food and who eats food not out of hunger but due to their interest or hobby", according to Wikipedia. I prefer Urban Dictionary's definition though...

Foodie- A person who enjoys eating food, unlike everyone else, who hates food, thinks it's disgusting, and would never consider eating it." -Urban Dictionary

Foodies like good food and everyone prefers things that aren't crazy expensive, so certain things were taken into account when creating this list.

To determine the best and cheapest local foodie scenes, WalletHub compared 182 cities — including the 150 most populated U.S. cities, plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state — across two key dimensions, “Affordability” and “Diversity, Accessibility & Quality.”         -Wallet Hub

Des Moines took #90 and Cedar Rapids came in at #98! That's not too bad considering there were 182 cities on the list. The #1 spot went to Portland, Oregon, but it's fine...that's too far for us to care. Go Iowa!
