Iowa Has One of the Most Dangerous Schools in America

College is supposed to be an exciting and enriching experience for anyone who is lucky enough to attend. I was lucky enough to attend a university that I loved and made some lifetime friends over my four years there.

However, university campuses can be a hotbed for violent crimes and theft.

According to reports, there were approximately 22,000 arrests made on college campuses in 2021.

DegreeChoices put together a list of the most dangerous university campuses in the nation, and one popular Iowa school ranked pretty high on the list.

This ranking was based off of data from the Department of Education which analyzed violent crimes on different campuses.

The colleges in this ranking all have a minimum of five hundred students who attend their university.

In addition, this list is based off of the rates of violent crimes on campus between 2019 and 2021. Some of these crimes taken into account for this list include forcible sex offenses, burglaries, motor vehicle thefts, aggravated assaults, and robberies.
