Iowa Football Lands Four-Star Cornerback from Connecticut
Iowa Hawkeye defensive guru Phil Parker is smiling this morning as one of the top cornerbacks in the nation has committed to the University of Iowa.
Charles 'CJ' Bell, a cornerback out of Oakdale, Connecticut, has verbally committed to play football at the University of Iowa, according to Hawk Fanatic. Bell chose Iowa over an impressive list of schools that included Notre Dame, Penn State, Wisconsin, Rutgers, and Tennessee among others. Bell made his choice official on social media Monday.
Hawk Fanatic reports that Bell is an ideal fit for Iowa Defensive Coordinator Phil Parker, standing 6'1" and weighing 170 pounds. Recruiting analyst Tom Lemming told Hawk Fanatic that Bell has all the tools to be a fantastic corner at Iowa, adding "The kid is almost like a lock. If he’s got the work ethic and Parker as his coach, he could be a number one draft choice. He’s that good."
Lemming listed Bell as a four-star level recruit. Bell is the 11th player to commit to Iowa for the 2025 class and the third in the past 24 hours, according to Hawk Fanatic. Offensive linemen Cameron Herron and Lucas Allgeyer committed to Iowa on Sunday. All three players made their official visits to Iowa last weekend.
