Iowa College Athlete Turned WWE Wrestler Is On ‘The Bachelorette’
It turns out there is an Iowa connection to this season of 'The Bachelorette' after all.
This season of 'The Bachelorette' follows Charity Lawson on her journey to find love among 29 eligible men. You might remember Charity from the most recent season of 'The Bachelor' with Zach Shallcross.
Are any of these contestants on this season of 'The Bachelorette' from the Hawkeye State?
The Bachelorette herself is from Columbus, Georgia. According to the official contestant list that ABC put out, there are quite a few gentlemen from the Midwest.
- Caleb A. — Ann Arbor, MI, 29
- James — Chicago, IL, 28
- Khalid — Dearborn, MI, 28
- Michael — South Holland, IL, 29
While none of the contestants hail from the Heartland, one did attend school in Iowa. Caleb B. also known as Caleb Balgaard Kale Dixon is a "WWE NXT Superstar." According to reports, the 24-year-old is a Michigan native who now lives in Florida. Caleb B. signed with the WWE in August of 2022. He has appeared on NXT live events and has even been featured on the Peacock show NXT Level Up, according to the Bleacher Report.
Caleb lost his first fifteen matches "on record," he did end up winning his matchup against Quincy Elliott on a recent episode of Level Up.
Before getting into wrestling, he played college baseball. During the 2018-19 ball season, which also happened to be his first year playing college sports, he was on the Iowa Western Community College team.
This school is located out of Council Bluffs. While he only played on the team for one year, we're definitely counting this as an Iowa connection for the popular reality show franchise.
After playing in Iowa, he eventually ended up playing ball for the University of South Alabama's baseball team.
