A New Energy Bar is Opening Soon in the Corridor

A popular energy bar in Central Iowa is expanding into the Eastern part of the state! According to articles from the Cedar Rapids Gazette and the Daily Iowan, Hyper Energy Bar is coming soon to the Ped Mall in Iowa City.

The first Hyper Energy location opened back in the summer of 2021, but there are now five of them in Iowa, with two more on the way. One of the new shops is the Hyper Energy in Iowa City, and the other is located in Ankeny.

Hyper Energy's Iowa City location is at 115 E College Street, which is the former ReUnion Brewery Gift Shop. According to the Daily Iowan:

"The Iowa City shop will be a new concept for the franchise due to its location in the Ped Mall. This specific establishment will act more as a storefront or cafe where customers can walk in and order. However, the shop will not contain any inside seating."

Hyper Energy Bar is known for its Hyper-Infused Energy Drinks, with flavors like Violet Voltage, Electric Wave, Screamin' Green, Adrenaline Junkie, and Jet Fuel. Instead of baristas, their employees are known as “energistas.” If energy drinks aren't really your thing, the shop also offers a variety of coffee options, as well as fruit smoothies. And as far as snacks go, Hyper Energy has muffin tops! Does anyone else remember that iconic Seinfeld episode?

There is no official opening date yet for the Hyper Energy in Iowa City, but a recent post on social media says, "we're counting down the days until we can officially announce the opening date of our Iowa City store—stay tuned!" For the latest updates, you can follow them on Facebook HERE.
