I've done a lot of yoga in my life, but the most enjoyable yoga class I've ever done was taught by goats. Ok, not really. But there were goats there!

A couple of summers ago, my best friend and I decided to take a break from our traditional yoga practice and visit a place called Coco's Ranch. At the time, they had just begun offering "Goga" classes (Goga = goat yoga), and we knew that we had to give it a try. As it turns out, goats and yoga are a perfect combination! There's nothing that lifts your spirits quite like playing and cuddling with tiny goats, especially when the goats are named after presidents and first ladies.

The description on Coco Ranch's Facebook page says:

"Co-exist and practice with the relaxed vibes of the Midwest farmland. Providing therapeutic qualities of the beauty in nature paired with the spirit of Nigerian dwarf goats. Expect the nature and natural process of all things from humans and goats."

Here are a few photos from my class back in 2017:

Coco's Ranch isn't the only farm that offers goat yoga here in Eastern Iowa, though! Lucky Star Farm in Iowa City has also started up classes for the season, and Old MacDonald's Farm in Cedar Rapids has a series of classes scheduled beginning in June.
