Happy Arbor Day! No doubt there will be tree planting ceremonies held across the United States today on this holiday that is all about trees. More specifically, planting new trees. Arbor Day is celebrated nationally on the last Friday in the month of April, and it is customary to plant a tree to celebrate. That has become more important that ever.

Trees represent one of the easiest ways to help the climate. By planting one, you help clean the air and purify water. Trees are nature's answer to rising temperatures, flooding and pollution control. A study found that since 1750, one-third of all carbon dioxide emissions come from deforestation.

Growing up, I remember planting trees when I was a young student in school. I hope that many of you choose to go out and plant a tree somewhere today. It's an easy way to help the future of our planet! In the words of John Denver, "Plant a tree for your tomorrow...."
