Gateway Dirt Nationals Results From Saturday Night

Racing in the Midwest in December? Yes, that just happened! The Edward Jones Dome, the former home of the St Louis Rams, was the site of this unique 1/5th mile dirt race as they hosted Dirt Late Models and Modifieds last Thursday through Saturday night.

Scott Bloomquist lead all 40 action packed laps to win the Late Model feature. Three Iowan's qualified for the $20,000 to win race on Saturday night. Billy Moyer Jr. of Des Moines was 7th, Justin Kay of Wheatland finished 10th and Chris Simpson of Oxford was in the top 5 before being involved in a crash causing him to drop out and finished 18th.

The Modified feature win went to Tommy Seets Jr. Iowans Todd Shute from Des Moines finished 14th and Waterloo's Tyler Droste was running in the Top 10 before cutting a tire and dropping out to finish 17th.

With a great crowd on hand, look for another Gateway Dirt Nationals for December 2017.
