Next Tuesday September 8, Cedar Rapids Transit will make changes to routes and schedules. Changes include increasing the frequency on high traffic routes, which will allow for additional riders capacity during peak travel times.
To help prevent the spread of Covid 19, face coverings are required on all buses, and passenger capacity is still 15 riders per bus to help maintain 6 feet of social distance.
While Cedar Rapids bus rides are currently still free, fare collection and front-door boarding is expected to begin later this fall after installation of protective shields on all buses is completed.
