98.1 KHAK First Responder Friday Honors Mark Kjormoe

Each Friday morning at 6:30 a.m., 98.1 KHAK's Brain & Courtlin pay tribute to an Eastern Iowa first responder. The weekly honoree receives a $25 gift card to Wild Hogs Saloon and Eatery in Walford and a $25 gift card to Honor and Respect.

This week's entry is a very special one. We are honoring Mark Kjormoe, who was nominated by the Marion Police Department! The entry reads:

"Mark Kjormoe #161 was a highly respected member of the Marion Police Department since September 9, 1999. He began his career as a patrol officer. He was promoted to the rank of corporal, and his final position with the department was a patrol sergeant. He unexpectedly passed on 12/13 and leaves behind his wife and their three children. His presence in the police department, the community, and, most of all, his family, will be greatly missed."

The Marion PD goes on to say that Mark's death was very sudden and that his work family is still in shock. We will be awarding the gift cards to his wife Heather, who also works for the department. We're praying for peace and healing for Mark's friends and family.
