Enjoy Winterfest in the Amana Colonies This Saturday!

It's time for the first big festival of the year in the Amana Colonies! This Saturday, January 26th they'll be hosting Winterfest 2019.

There are a ton of activities for all ages going on throughout the day, including games, a Best Beard Competition, a scavenger hunt, kids' activities, food & beverages, and more! Here are some of the highlights for Winterfest 2019:

• Amana Freezer 5k Run/Walk (canceled due to weather conditions)
  • Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at Timber and Tools
  • Race begins at 10 a.m.
  • Register in advance HERE
• Open Fire Chili
  • Held at the Market Barn
  • Served from 11 a.m. until it's gone
  • Proceeds benefit the Amana Fire Department
• Winterfest Games at the Market Barn
  • Chainsaw Artist
    • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Ice Fishing Game (for kids), The Great Amana Ham-Put, Pork Chop SlapShot, Log Sawing Competition, Wreath Toss, & Ice Cube Launch
    • 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    • Winners for specific games will be announced at 2:30 p.m.
  • Best Beard Competition
    • Begins at 2 p.m.
    • Categories are fullest, most unique, and best overall
  • Eisbahn Ice Rink
    • 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Mush Sled Race
    • Begins at 2 p.m.
    • Adults & Kids divisions
• Winterfest Wine and Beer Walk
  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Visit each winery for samples and get your wine walk card punched
  • After visiting all participants you get a free glass
  • Cost is $2 - must be 21+
• Snowball Dance
  • Millstream Brau Haus
  • 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Featuring live music from Nick & Tom, food, and beer
