Eastern Iowa Man Charged with Shooting His Dad
An eastern Iowa man is behind bars this morning after authorities say he shot his father Monday evening.
David Nordyke III, 36, of Agency is accused of shooting his dad, David Nordyke Junior, at approximately 9:30 Monday evening. Nordyke Jr. called 911 as he drove himself to the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield. He was later taken by Air Care to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
When deputies from the Wapello County Sheriff's Office responded to Nordyke's house on Fox Hills Road in Agency, Nordyke III was still there. After an investigation and search warrant was carried out, he was arrested. No other information has been released about what led to the shooting.
David Nordyke III was charged with attempted murder in the shooting. The charge is a Class B felony, punishable by up to 25 years in prison. He's being held at the Wapello County Jail.
