An eastern Iowa student is recovering at the University of Iowa Children's Hospital in Iowa City after being attacked in the lunchroom of an Iowa high school Monday morning.

According to KWQC, the boy who is attacked in the video below, underwent emergency surgery to stop a brain bleed he experienced after Monday morning's assault. His mother says he is responding to doctors as he continues to undergo treatment.

The attack happened just before 11 a.m. Monday at Davenport West High School. The mother of the boy who was attacked said it was related to a photo that her son had taken.

The video below, from Our Quad Cities, shows the victim being punched repeatedly and knocked to the floor. He then has a chair thrown at him before another student appears to step in. Following the attack, both students were released to their parents. There is no word on whether charges will be filed.
