Iowa High School Student with Intellectual Disabilities Attacked at School [VIDEO]
A video showing one high school student attacking another inside Muscatine High School has left fellow students angry and police investigating.
The attack, which happened Monday morning in a hallway of the school in Muscatine, Iowa, shows one student come up behind Coby Zahn, who his mother says has intellectual disabilities. Zahn is shoved, punched, and knocked to the ground. He was left with a bruised scalp and swollen lips. Another student videotaped the attack, which is below.
Muscatine junior Josalynn McGowen couldn't make sense of what happened after seeing the video. She told KWQC,
I said 'why is this kid doing this?' All he [Coby] does is walk around the halls, listen to music and mind his own business.
Police are currently investigating but Coby's mother, Vicky Zahn, says she plans to press charges.
Following the incident, the Muscatine Community School District posted a message to their Facebook page. It does not specifically mention the attack:
Wednesday morning, was another active one at Muscatine High School after a social media post about a possible shooting. Thankfully, two students admitted it was a hoax. They were removed and police continue to investigate.
