Ten years ago, Darius Rucker was changed forever after visiting St. Jude's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. The father of three made the decision then to "do everything I could to help those kids and the amazing doctors who work tirelessly to find cures." He's been doing just that ever since.

Last week, Darius announced that over the last decade, he has now raised more than $2 million for the hospital. $425,000 of that was raised this year through his annual golf tournament and concert that he calls "Darius and Friends." This year's event included Luke Bryan, Kane Brown, Brett Young, Sheryl Crow, and Jimmie Allen.

In a media release, Darius said,

They believe that a financial burden is the last thing a family should face when their focus needs to be on helping a kid get better, and St. Jude makes sure that their patients never pay a dime. It's an honor for us to be able to help them continue such an important mission.

We also know you understand there's no greater joy than helping kids. You've made it abundantly clear for the last 22 years, donating more than $3 million during our annual radiothon for Children's Miracle Network and the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. This year's event will be held on August 15 and 16. We'll be asking for your help again and know you'll come through for the kids and doctors here in the corridor.

We'll also be raising money for the kids at this year's Great Jones County Fair, which includes a show that features Darius Rucker's band Hootie and the Blowfish. More info on that show is available HERE.
