According to the Des Moines Register, this was a week the Iowa State Football Coaching Staff would like to forget. It was a week that included an arrest of a player, three transfers and another kicked off the team.

It's the stuff of lost sleep. Every college coach in America tries to cover all the bases: Get the best kids. Teach them to avoid the pitfalls. Bring in players who have a chance of staying through to graduation. It doesn't always work out the way you want...

Yesterday, Cyclone P.J. Harris was charged with aggravated domestic assault/strangulation. Harris' girlfriend said the wide receiver pushed and strangled her. Along with this disturbing accusation, we also learned today that Harris had already been kicked off the team. That happened last week. Two others have recently received the boot from the Ames campus.

Coach Paul Rhoads released the news today and also said wide receiver Damein Lawry, tight end Alex Leslie and offensive lineman Duaron Williams will transfer.

With the Men's Basketball team in the middle of one of the best seasons in major college hoops, the football team is reeling. Coming off of an 0-9 Big 12 season, Rhoads has some major on-field issues to deal with. News this week didn't help the cause.
