Curfew Still in Effect in Cedar Rapids

Just a reminder for everyone that lives in Cedar Rapids, there is still a curfew here in the "City of Five Seasons."

The curfew is 10 p.m. and is lifted the next day at 6 a.m. The main reason for the curfew is for crews to be able to clear debris from the streets and side roads. I was out driving around today, and the clean up is just beginning.

I would imagine the other reason for the curfew is looting. There are many concerned business owners worried about their storefronts. The curfew should keep people off the streets and hopefully, there will be no issues.

I spoke with a number of friends today that got their power turned back on. It sounds like crews are ahead of schedule and let's hope we can all be back on in the next few days. I'm one of those people with no power and I'm definitely ready for it to be back.
