Courage Ride to Fight Sarcoma Cancer is Saturday
The ride that's raised more than $300,000 in eastern Iowa in ten years happens in Kalona Saturday morning.
The 11th Courage Ride begins at the Iowa Mennonite School in Kalona. There's still time to register. Registration is from 6 to 10 tomorrow morning at the school at 1421 540th Street Southwest in Kalona. The first ride begins at 7 a.m., with rides varying in length from 16 to 110 miles. You can also register online through Friday (8/19) at midnight, here.
Here's the list of times for everything tomorrow:
- Registration: 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
- Silent Auction: 6 a.m. to close
- Breakfast: 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
- Long rides begin 7 a.m.
- Short and medium rides begin 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The Courage Ride is dedicated to the memory of Seth Bailey, son of founders Tom and Jackie Bailey. Seth passed away from soft-tissue synovial sarcoma cancer in 2003. Two years later, the Courage Ride started to help raise funds and awareness for this rare cancer.
