Looking for a unique Mother's Day gift? Look no further! Our friends at Dogs Forever in Cedar Rapids are doing an awesome new fundraiser involving "Poorly Drawn Pet Portraits."

So what is a "Poorly Drawn Pet Portrait?" Well, it's pretty self-explanatory. The Facebook page says it's "a realistic sketch, a funny rendering, or a portrait done by a volunteer 'artist' who really REALLY tried." Here are a few examples:

In order to get your one-of-a-kind pet portrait, you will need to make a donation via mail or Venmo. It's a $15 donation per photo, plus an additional $10 donation for each additional pet in the photo. Then you just need to head to the event page and post your photo on the "discussions" tab with your pet's name, your payment method, and whether you'd like the photo posted under your comment or via email.

The fundraiser will officially begin on Wednesday, May 1st and run through Wednesday the 8th. The event page says:

"We'll have your drawing back to you ASAP (within two days!!) from one of our volunteer 'artists!' You can print it off, frame it and [voila]! THE BEST GIFT EVER! All photos will be back to everyone no later than Friday, May 10th so you'll have plenty of time to get THE PERFECT gift together."

To pay via Venmo, just search DogsForeverRescue under the "people" category (not "businesses"). DO NOT select "purchase protection," because it takes a fee from the rescue. The last four digits you'll need for confirmation are 3501.

To pay via mail, just send a cash or check to:
