Carson Kings Says ‘No Thanks’ To Bobblehead Profits
Throughout his entire journey, Carson King has always insisted that it's all about helping the kids. Those kids would be those served by the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital in Iowa City. You know, the place that King donated over $3 million dollars to earlier this month. So when the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame announced it wanted to honor King with his own bobblehead, some figured finally! Carson King is going to get his! Not so fast.
Iowa Legend bobbleheads in King's likeness would be sold for $25 each plus $8 for shipping. Phil Sklar, the co-founder, and CEO of the Bobblehead Hall of Fame said that the company offered to split the profits with King anyway he liked. But much to the surprise of Sklar, he didn't want any of the profits. King did approve the production of the bobbleheads. They'll still be sold for $25 and $5 of that will go to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
So the amazing guy whose simple sign started a movement of generosity remains a great guy. Iowa nice. Truly, and Iowa Legend.
