How fast can you drink a Capri Sun? This morning, Brain set out on a mission to find out!

Earlier this week, it was revealed that a 20-year-old man from the United Kingdom named Declan Evans recently set a world record. According to an article from the Lincolnite, Declan was bored last April thanks to the lockdown, so he decided to look for an easy record he could break. The article says:

"... he quickly found thousands of records which Guinness set a benchmark for, but had not yet been attempted. The ‘fastest time to drink a Capri Sun’ was around 18 seconds."

After some practice, Declan officially broke the record in August. He was able to drink a Capri Sun in 16.65 seconds, earning him a certificate from the Guinness Book of World Records. He's actually hoping to hold five world records in his lifetime!

When we heard about this record, we thought it seemed pretty easy to beat. Brain agreed to attempt it on the air, but we very quickly realized that the feat was harder than it looked! In addition to drinking all the liquid in that amount of time, you're also required to remove the straw from the package, take the plastic off of it, and then pierce the juice box (you can see the full list of rules HERE). Unfortunately, Brain was NOT able to break the record on his first attempt, but we still had fun trying! And, we still have eight juice boxes left...

Check out the video from this morning's show below:

Declan actually reached out to us later in the day today, complete with a photo of his Guinness World Record award. He really enjoyed watching the attempt. We hope you did, too.
