Brain’s Dog Barry Has a Brother Who Needs a Home!

Earlier this year, I saw a Facebook post about German Shepherd puppies from Texas that needed a foster home. I love German Shepherds, and when I looked into Barry's brown eyes, I knew that he needed to come live with us. But Barry was just one of six puppies from that litter that needed rescuing. Now, only one remains without a forever home.

It has been a long road getting Barry to where he is today. For weeks and months, he wouldn't interact with us, wag his tail, or even bark. We stayed patient, even worked with a great local dog trainer. Eventually, Barry came out of his shell. He is now becoming the silly, loving friend I knew he could be.

But while Barry, his mother, and most of his siblings have now found new homes, one brother, named Thunder, is still looking for his new owner.

Barry and Thunder were brought to Iowa by the rescue organization Tails in Transit. He is currently being fostered here in Iowa, and according to his foster mom, Taylor, Thunder is the same loving, derpy dog that Barry has become!

We had Thunder, Taylor, and Alyson from Tails in Transit visit our studios this week. Thunder was a little shy around us, much the same way Barry was until he got used to us. But just like Barry, Thunder is a smart, fun, loving dog that would love to find a forever home of his own.
