I'm becoming increasingly frustrated with Facebook. It seems like all I see on it are rants involving politics, religion and what's wrong with the world. Along with that are countless recipes. One recently caught my eye called 'Bacon Egg Cups'. The video how-to looked easy so my daughter Carly and I decided to try them out on the family last night.

The recipe involves cutting out pieces of bread with a cup and putting that bread as the bottom layer in a muffin tin. Then you wrap cooked bacon around the outside of the bread, spread in a little cheese and top with a raw egg. Bake at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes and you're set! I showed Carly the video and she immediately got all the ingredients we needed out of the fridge! She cut out all the bread bottoms and then helped me wrap them with bacon. She really wanted to crack some eggs, but I told her shell pieces weren't in the recipe.

How did it turn out? Not bad. I over cooked a few of the eggs as they were a bit hard on the top. None of my kids mind runny eggs, so they liked them. Like any recipe, I would modify some things a second time around. I don't think I'd cook the eggs the same. I might try a scrambled egg mix with bacon mixed in. And I'd add a bit more cheese. The real fun though was cooking with Carly. Watching her measure and cut and put things together. I'm already looking for our next recipe to try together. I guess I can't stay mad at you forever Facebook.
