The Most Iconic Christmas Cookie in Each State

Today, December 4th is also known as National Cookie Day, and since we're officially into the holiday season, we thought we would turn our focus to Christmas cookies!

When I was growing up, my mom was the QUEEN of Christmas cookies. She would spend weeks baking all sorts of different kinds for family, friends, and neighbors. I would occasionally help, but I was much more interested in eating the cookies...

The website Delish recently put together a list of the most iconic holiday cookies in all 50 states, and the pick for Iowa is kind of strange. The article reads:

"When you think of Iowa, you probably picture fields of swaying corn stalks. Even in more urban parts of the state, people can get on board with subtly sweet corn cookies."

Have you ever had corn cookies? Because I've never even heard of them! The recipe from Kirbie Cravings says they're made up of butter, sugar, egg, flour, corn flour, freeze-dried corn powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. The description reads:

"These giant cookies are chewy, sweet, with just a subtle corn flavor. Plan in advance because the cookie dough needs to chill, which is the key to success with these cookies!"
